Don't Rush!

I have seen many people being anxious about the future and cursing themselves just because they don’t really know what are they going to do in their life. If you are one of them, this article is definitely for you! Or if you experience days where you feel like doing nothing at all and then feel guilty for it, read on.

The thing is we want everything to be planned so that we have a sense of security and tell ourselves “Alright I am not blank and I know what to do next” and hence, imagine a secure future. But, have you always achieved whatever you dreamt of or wanted to? If the answer is yes, then bravo, you are god’s favorite child! If not, then think about why are you so obsessed with planning? Things are going to turn out, the way they are supposed to be. What you need to focus on is today, because you have control over the present day, and let me just put it straight, if you work on your today, your tomorrow will automatically become better! It’s ok to not know what are you going to do in the next 5 years, just plan your today.

We all are in a rat race of achieving our goals, which is not at all a problem. The problem is when we rush when we are hard on ourselves because we were not able to do a particular thing or because we failed. We fear failure because we don’t want to feel embarrassed in front of our family, colleagues, friends, relatives, etc. This becomes a cycle; you lose confidence because you failed at something; now how are you going to win at another? Then again you get demotivated and the loop goes on and on. Why can’t we just stop for a while, what are we running for? Is it a shame to fail or not have a goal? These are the standards society wants us to fit in, but we don’t necessarily need to!

It’s completely alright not to have a plan, it’s alright to take tiny steps because, in the end, they are going to become the major ones. It’s okay to not get a job at the same time your friend did. Sun and Moon shine when it’s their time, remember? You are going to shine bright, for now just work on becoming that person who deserves that shine. For now, work on becoming your best self and then go ahead and do miracles. I know it’s easier said than done. So, let me tell you about myself a little to give you a better idea of what exactly I am talking about.

Just a month back, I was not really doing anything productive, was just living probably. I had no idea about what I will do and how things will be in the future. Did I feel anxious? Yes, I did. But, at the back of my mind, I had confidence that maybe today is not my day, but tomorrow will be! And then one fine day, while I was doing a course on HTML and Web Development, I thought of starting my own blogging site, it was a very random thought I didn’t even discuss it with anyone. But, something inside me said that you know what just go for it, and here you are reading the 5th blog on my very own site which is now on google. This month has been crazy! I randomly one day tweeted that “July is for peace and progress”, without knowing it would come true! The thing is I believed what I tweeted, I believe in vibes and by believing in that random tweet I sent the exact vibes to the universe and the Universe said yeah, why not? When I look back today, I feel like everything directed me towards writing, I have always loved writing, reading books, looking at images where there was a book, a pen, a coffee, and a laptop and that’s exactly the vibe I have right now! Law of Attraction probably?

I remember, when I was in 8th and our class teacher decided to say something about each student as we were going to another wing. For me, she said that, “Khushi tells everything in so much depth like she will tell you the whole story that too from the beginning if you’ll ask what happened” honestly that time I felt like maybe it was a bad thing but now when I look at it, I think I can write blogs all because I love explaining everything in depth. I decided before entering college that I’ll explore everything I can because this is the only time to discover what I really like doing. I have discovered writing, I don’t know if this is what I am going to do for the rest of my life, but I do know that I won’t stop writing; it makes my soul happy (not exaggerating).

Do not just sit back, push yourself to do something (without being hard on yourself), just get started there’s always a first time. Hustle! It’s okay to have un-productive days sometimes but not every time. Don't be in such a rush to reach a goal, that you reach the goal before you are ready. Sometimes, we learn such valuable lessons along the way. Sometimes, we learn more about ourselves and discover that we actually want something different. Put your heart into what you do, but don't rush. Good things take time.

This turned out to be a very personal blog, an article from me to you. All I want to tell you is just keep believing in yourself, it’s alright not to have productive days, don’t be harsh on yourself, you will do what you are supposed to do give yourself time, work on yourself, love yourself, respect yourself.

Explore every single thing you can until you discover your passion and by passion, I don’t mean something capable enough to give you fame or money; but something you are willing to put your heart and soul into. You are meant to do something, you matter, God wouldn’t have wasted time creating nothing, right? You may not discover your passion on the first go, but hey you at least discovered something you are not willing to do, now move on to the next.

Sending good vibes your way :)

“Don't rush to have things done early. Be prepared before you set off. That's the rule. However, this does not mean that you keep delaying the time for beginning. You must begin by all means! Go, get prepared!” ~ Israelmore Ayivor
